LOSAP UPDATES
We are still on target for a December application process with the state. They will open a portal December 1st when you can register your department for the LOSAP program. It will be mostly the same info you gave for the IFA registration.
Go to iowaeda.com/LOS register with ID.me follow instructions
1. List of eligible firefighters, based on your department’s criteria. This will be somewhat flexible, and you will have to look back as the time frame will basically be January 1st, 2025- December 2025
2. Last four digits of members SS# and years of service.
3. The fire department contact. Fire Chief or another designated member. Their phone number and email address.
4. Fiscal Agent contact, phone number and email address. Remember the fiscal agent needs to be someone from the city, county, township, benefited fire district written in the definition of municipality in Iowa code 100B.21 Definitions.
5. You also need to establish the amount of investment for each member.
6. Any other information they may ask you in the form. They have not shared the form with us yet, this is what we know.
7. Cindy will let us know when the portal is live and you can log in.
8. After the 60 days of the portal opening timeframe, you will be notified if they have received ALL the pertinent information. If so, they will send you a contract for the partnership. They will then electronically send you the matching funds to invest.
9. Checks will be issued sometime in February or March and will be sent electronically to your fiscal agent who will then invest those funds.

Recording Incidents to the State
Departments are to continue reporting in image trend, the state will convert it to the new NERIS system.
