Tractor, Haybale Fire Near Red Oak

On August 23 at 1357 the Red Oak, Stanton, and Elliott Fire Departments were dispatched to 2081 170th for a tractor and haybale fire. While enroute firefighters were advised that the tractor had become fully engulfed in flames. The farmers on site had already made a fire break to the north successfully stopping the spread of the fire to multiple rows of other bales. There was also an excavator on site that assisted with burying the extinguished bales. Fireground operations were concluded at 4:32 p.m. No injuries reported. Responding/Assisting: Red Oak Fire Department, Stanton Fire Department, Elliott Fire Department, MCSO Communications, MCSO Sheriff’s Office, Red Oak PD and several local farmers with equipment and Gohlinghorst Excavation Company.
