Sac City Fire Department’s FF1 class, along with a couple other seasoned firefighters, utilized the Fire Service Training Bureau’s Interior Fire Attack Simulator trailer on Saturday, Sept. 26. The trailer is equipped with several high-output propane burners and smoke generators to simulate the conditions firefighters might experience in an actual fire. Firefighters worked inside the trailer for several hours, taking turns practicing different scenarios. They operated the trailer again Monday night for their regular training meeting. We would like to thank the Iowa Fire Service Training Bureau for making this training tool available, and Sac County Ambulance for being on standby during this sometimes intense training exercise.
