Dike Fire Department Open House
An Open House will be held on Oct. 7 to celebrate Larry Dufel’s achievement of 50 years of service to the Dike Fire Department. The Open House will be from 6:30-8 p.m. at the Dike Fire Department, 105 1st Street, Dike.
LARRY DUFEL
Larry has been an active member since October 1976 and still responds to a number of calls in the capacity of driver. On October 7th, Dike Fire Department will be hosting an open house for the community to celebrate this milestone with Larry. Over his years of service, Larry has held a number of roles, including Chief and Safety Officer. Beyond the fire department, Larry is also a member of the Dike Lions Club where he is a familiar face at many events throughout the Dike Community, including the annual Santa Claus visit during Razzle Dazzle, and Watermelon Days booth, offering free water and an affordable meal option for attendees. Larry and his wife have also taken the responsibility for preserving the history of the department for the future generations, maintaining a collection of photo albums with training photos, member bios, and news clippings related to Dike Fire Department.
DAVE STAGE
In 2024, we hosted 50 years of service celebration for Dave Stage. He has been an active member since May 1974 who still responds to a large number of our calls in the capacity of a driver for the ambulance and pump operator on Larry Dufel fire calls. Dave is a well-known throughout the Dike community from his years of service on Dike Fire Department, along with his wealth of knowledge and providing services for small-engine repairs. Dave is also known by a number of the community members as “Popcorn Dave” because you can find him in the concession booth for any home football game, popping popcorn for the crowd of spectators.
